In the world of Hip-Hop, a fire beat can break through all other language barriers. That’s all it took to unite three distinct talents in the Asian rap scene: Japan’s GOODMOODGOKU, Vietnam’s Lil Wuyn and Indonesia’s Dycal Siahaan. Through the arrangement of bpm plus asia and M.A.U Collective, these three artists were able to collaborate on a track that quickly became greater than the sum of it’s parts. “My Ninjas” is a trapped out straight-forward banger, but in its simplicity belies the huge strides forward made here by each artist.

“My Ninjas” is your quintessential ride or die, us-against-the-world anthem, equal parts attitude and craft, sure to please party-goers and hip-hop heads alike. Dycal puts away the tender R&B coos to go harder than he’s ever gone before, setting the tone for the rest of the track. GOODMOODGOKU takes the reins with the main hook, an unexpected move considering how esoteric his solo work can be. And Lil Wuyn’s exudes so much confidence and swagger that you wouldn’t think that it’s his first fully English verse ever (it is).

GOODMOODGOKU is a prolific rapper/lyricist/producer from Hokkaido, Japan who has been releasing his music steadily since 2012. Surrounded by music since adolescence due to his DJ father, GOODMOODGOKU released his debut album HIGH SCHOOL when he was only 16. Since then, he has collaborated with hip-hop artists from all over Japan even while remaining in Asahikawa. His most recent album, PURITY, came out in February of this year, and shows that GOODMOODGOKU has no intention of slowing down, even as the rest of Japanese hip-hop races to catch up.

With every move he makes, Saigon’s Lil Wuyn continues to push Vietnamese Hip-Hop to the forefront. Along with his infamous 95Generation crew, Lil Wuyn released dozens of projects and music videos which have gathered millions of views across all major platforms. But despite the rapid success, his voice and style stay true to the Saigon streets he proudly calls home. And Saigon returns the respect, as he advanced through the initial round on Season 2 of Rap Viet, the hottest talent TV show in Vietnam.
